Weird behavior - both male and female

We are trying to breed our two veiled chameleons. Our male is over a year old, and our female is about 11 months old. We are introducing them in his cage, and things have gone weird on us (at least as far as I can tell).

The female is the one chasing the male. She is hanging on the branches over him and continually bumping him with her head. She is green, but does not have the blue spots that receptive females often have.

Our male is just plain ignoring her!! He is turning and walking away from her, and stranger still, when she starts pestering him, he starts shaking his head back and forth like he is saying no! I tried looking up something about this behavior, but I couldn't find anything other than males tend not to respond to females that do not display breeding colors.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

I'd say wait until she's a little older to breed. Female veileds at that age normally still need calcium for their bodies that the eggs would take away from them. I'd wait till she was over a year old.

I am also wondering why you are breeding her at this age.
If she is not showing receptive coloration, it's not the right time to introduce them.
They are acting normally in the situation you have placed them in.
