Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon*- The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? - Male veiled cham. Around 7-8 months. Had Leon since April 29th
Handling*- How often do you handle your chameleon? - every other day to let him get some sun and for showers.
Feeding*- What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule?
How are you gut-loading your feeders? Staple diet of crickets, throw in about 7 or 8 everyday. Not all eaten at night. Weekdays its at like 7 in the morning, weekends around 12. Also fed meal, wax, and super worms as treats every other day. Gotten a lil lazy on gutloading the past week or so. The thing I keep the crickets in when gutloading started to mold and I Cant find time to disinfect is thoroughly. Need to get on that. Gutload with fruits and other things I find around my kitchen.
Supplements*- What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? - Reg calcium w/o d3 every day. Multi vit and calcium with d3 every other week
Watering*- What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? - I have. A dripper and a big Hudson pump sprayer I mist his cage with like 4 times a day. Dont see him drinking cuz I usually just leave after I spray his cage. Sometimes he'll be up for a shower from the sprayer, other times he'll run away lol. Thats why I give him showers.
Fecal Description*- Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? Never been tested but his droppings are brown and white with the orange part. Pretty healthy poop.
History*- Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you. Got him from a pet shop, didnt look the best when I took him in.

Temperature*- What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps? Basking is around 89-92. Turn it down from 76 during the day to 73 at night. Rest of cage is 76-80. Measured with temp gun.
Humidity*- What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? 60-75% humidity. Have humidifier next to cage. Measured with hydrometer.
Plants*- Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? Ficus tree at the bottom along with fake ficus trunks attached to the side to create alot of foliage a alot of fake plastic vines across the top of cage
Placement*- Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? Located in corner of my room. Top of cage is around 8 feet up. No vents or fans. Lots of foliage for privacy
Location*- Where are you geographically located? Kentucky USA mid eastern US.

Current Problem*- The current problem you are concerned about. Weak grip. Not to sure what the deal is. He's been in his new cage for less than a week so Idk if Hes just getten use to it or what. But he seems to of gotten use to it already. Hes just not hangen on to things very hard. Cant see any ribs. I dont see him "leaf" out as much though.

Latest pic of him. Taken on the 13th. Cage and what not as well.

his droppings are brown and white with the orange part.

There shouldn't be an orange part....not all the time. Orange means dehydration.

I'm going to suggest that you make sure that dripper is running at least 4 hours a day and that you mist a quart of water at least 3 times a day (you could make it a half gallon and I wouldn't think you were overdoing it.)

Well I've seen the orange part before, it isnt in every dropping. I just got my facts mixed. I run a 20 oz bottle of water through his dripper every day while im at school. I just got back from school and its still dripping. I got it drippen pretty slow. And I mist like 3 or 4 times after scchool with a big hudson pump( the things weed killer is kept in) for about 20 secs. He's forsure not dehydrated.

So he seemed to get better, but now Hes having troubles even holding on to his branch. Im 1 1/2 hours from the nearest cham vet and I dont have that kinda money.

Are his eyes always closed or did you just happen to catch him that way?

20 seconds is not a long time to mist. Some chameleons take a long time to decide it's okay to drink. I would suggest getting the dripper going then misting a full quart (you probably have markers for the weed killer on the sprayer) at one time. I think you are better off doing 2 really drenching mistings than 4 short ones.

What are the specifics of your UV bulb? (maker, name of bulb)

Your temperature at the bottom of the cage seems warm. I think it should be room temperature at the bottom.

What do you mean you turn the temperature down from 76 to 73 at night? Are you using anything to heat his cage at night? They benefit from a significant drop in temperature at night. It would be best if the cage got down in the mid 60s. He would be fine if it got down to the low 50s.

New problem has arised.

Im not exactly sure what he's passing, Hes around 7 1/2 months so it might just be a sperm plug. First attempt here. I got the basic idea on what to do, not very sure. Any words?

Yah he was just doin that cuz he was in a warm shower. And ive upped his mistings the fast few days. And I have the 5.0 uvb and a 75 watt flukers day light bulb (replaced that one quite a few times).
And the thermostat drops a couple degree at night. And Idk sometimes I walk into my room and its 77. I have a thermo stat right outside my door and my parents get pissed when I mess with it. But its normally at 75, 95% of the time.

that is a sperm plug and you don't do anything. They will get rid of it by rubbing on a branch or something.

Alright. I didnt try and remove it because I didnt see it later on that night. But I just saw it again and I have him in the shower again. The weak grip problem went away after I pampered him for a day with a shower and some sunlight and some treats.

Can you cool his room down at night? Maybe open a window or two, keep the door to the hall closed? Even put a fan blowing out the window? I really think that's too warm a night time temperature.

In the picture his eyes are closed. Did you just happen to catch him that way or are his eyes closed a lot during the day?
