WC Meller's subadults on the way...

So I have been reading up on meller's for quite some time and they have been one of my favorite chameleons since I can even remember, I have just always been too afraid to get a wild caught adult that was infested with parasites and such. Everytimer captive bred or captive hatched ones are available they are gone before I see them. Well I finally decided to get two and they are wild caught sub adults 4-5i inches snout to vent. I was just wondering if anyone knew the approximate age this would amke them. I plan on housing them for teh time being in two seperate 6'x3'x3' hand built cages that I had already built in the hope of finding some nice wild caught ambilobes this year which never really panned out as all the nicely colored ones I found were in terrible shape upon my personal inspection. Well I have seen amny pictures of these little meller's and they seem to be healthy for the most part. I have a vet appointment set up for friday fot the both of them as they will most likely have parasites and other problems. I just can't get over how excited I am. Any advice coming from personal expierence instead of books and websites would be very helpful. And yes I know about http://www.melleridiscovery.com/index.html

thanks,
Justin

You will be happy that you pulled the trigger on finally obtaining your Melleri. They are a wonderful species to keep and you will be happy that you got them. Congrats! Of all the species I have kept, these are my ultimate favorite because they are so expressive. While some of their keeping is more of a "learned science" and it can vary depending on what climate you live in, there are quite a few of us here who have good experience with them so just ask if you have any questions as to their care and anything else. Good luck and we look forward to seeing pictures! :D

Well I ended up getting the 10 month old captive hatched ambilopbe from Catherine(pardalisgirl) as my girlfriend did not like the idea of having two chameleons that get 30inches+ running around my living room on our mini greenhouse of giant schefflera and ficus :( I do beleive that this little ambilobe will be quite the stunner in a few months and good for my breeding projects though. I plan on breeding him with one of my chamnorthwest renoir line females in a couple months.
