I myself would use them as treats once in awhile, and besides being fatty if your cham loves them they might go on strike against their staple, I usually only buy them to turn them into moths which karma LOVES.
I bought some last week, the first time in ages as a treat for Tommy. He got to have two before he died, but these ones are massive! Bigger than Monty's head!Amy enjoyed hers too, but seeing as she's a fatty anyway I will pupate these and breed them so I can get some teeny tiny baby waxies so Monty and the cresties can have a treat too! My cresties will love the moths as well I think!
I took a milk jug, cut off the top so I can easily stick my hand in, put oatmeal and a squirt or two of honey in the bottom, enough so they can dig if they choose, but not too sticky so they don't get stuck, put twigs and crumpled into ball waxpaper in there, a screen net over top (I just used a pantyhose, easy to take off and on), put them in my closet for 2-3 weeks, and wala! they'll keep breeding with the crumpled waxpaper or you can feed them off right away. You can grab them by one wing and they flap around, really gets the attention of chameleons!
