Hallo

Just godt som wax worms for my female vailed I have made her used to feeding in a plastic cup. But as i see wax worms can crawl vertical and I don't want them free range. She doesn't like hand feeding as she is very shy.

Any suggestions?

I rarely feed waxworms because they contain allot of fat but I can't remember any getting out of the feeder cup. Just to be on the safe side you could spread alittle olive oil around the inside top of the cup. Members here do that to keep roaches in the cup and it would probably work for waxworms too.

Im with Jannb - first suggestion is to not offer waxworms (low nutritional value, high fat) unless you are needing to fatten her up after an illness or similar.

secondly, if she's not eating them up quickly, its possible she is not all that hungry (and all the more reason not to offer fatty food).

another idea is to use a large glazed ceramic bowl - I find this gives less opportunity for crawling larva to get away than a "cup" sized plastic container. The previously suggested olive oil on top inch of rim is helpful also.
