Waterfall

Hi all

I have a Panther Chameleon which is really my son's. Anyway, apart from being a superb and fascinating pet I wanted to ask you lot what you think of Waterfalls for Chameleons.

We mist the cage frequently but whenever we do the chameleon always immediately starts drinking and sometimes even drinks direct from the sprayer if you let water drip from the end of it.

So I asked the shop we bought it from and he suggested a waterfall - we got the Exo-terra large one (£50!!!!)

Will he use it? Is it more aggro than it is worth?

Any comments welcome!

Cheers

He possibly will use it but it is not recomended as it is a source for breeding bacteria. Feeders often drown in it also your cham may use it as a potty:D. Yes it is more trouble than its worth. I advise continue spraying. If he is enjoying drips from a bottle it might be worth getting a dripper. They are inexpensive or you can make your own. If misting regularly is a problem, an automatig mister might be the answer. Welcome to the forum.:)

Hi Kate

I thought so - reckon the shop just wanted my cash to be honest! (Ebay beckons!) Trouble is now my son likes the waterfall!

I will look at a dripper now!

There are quite a few posts on here about diiy drippers. There are also i think zoomed make little dripper and big dripper. I find that with these if you buy an air valve for fish tanks you can controlthe flow better. I have used waterfalls in the past and they are very dirty things. You could always use it as an ornament.LOL

Not sure what kind of setup you run, but I have a waterfall in mine. My cham loves it, but rather drinks from the rain on the leaves. There are pictures of my setup in a different post I made. :)
