Water questions

Few questions about water for keeping A veiled cham.

Have setup a dripper system which drips water onto a few leaves and then into a dish at the bottom, which when the tub is full lasts a few hours, I have also got a mister ready to use few times a day as well.

What im unsure of is the water to use, I've read that they don't like cold water nor water too hot, so room temp is best, but can I use water straight from the tap for both dripper and misting? Just wondered if there was issues with chlorine or anything else found in water from taps, if so is it a case of boiling and then letting it cool down or what?

Thanks

Simon

Well, I use both.
When I have the time I use filtered water for the dripper and mister.
I use room tmeperature water in the dripper and when I use to hand mist I would toss the mister bottle into the microwave for 20 seconds.
Make sure the top section of the mister isnt inside the microve because it will melt the O-rings.lol
Now that my mister is automated it is room temperture.
I found this out the hard way.
A lot of information site say to place some ice cubes at the top of the cage.
Dont use this method, chameleons dont appreciate cold water like we do.

Thanks, so is there actaully any harm in using straight tap water? The 20 scs in microwave im guessing is just to warm it up rather than remove any properties from the water?

I dont think their is any harm in tap water.
I just use filtered b/c I'm anal
I put my chameleons inside the shower once or twice a week for 20 mins.
It all depends on if they are about to shed.
Yes, the 20 seconds is just to make the water warm.

I put hot water in my spray bottle, it still comes out semi cold, but it seems to help keep the humidiy up.

Great thanks everybody, think I've got everything covered now, going to look at a baby veiled on Sunday! :D

Congrats! I myself just bought a baby veiled (2 months old) from Mike at FL Chams, I am very happy, it wa sonly $85 shipped too.
