Water out of nose

Okay, so my panther chameleon went and drank from my dipping system, he swallowed the water then immediately went and clung upside down from the cage. I have him in an all screen cage. When he was hanging the water seemed to start dripping out of his nose. He then got off the top and was standing normally and started opening his mouth to breathe.. Is this normal? Did he just get water in his nose? Help

i had the same problem with mine when i gave him his meds (some liquid calcium).
i injected it in his mouth and then a little bit came out of his nose.
i was pretty careful not to pour it in his throat and go on the other way.

That does seem a little odd, but if he did not swallow all of the water this is possible. The nose/nostril is connected to the mouth (and eye is connected to the nose also through the nasolacrimal duct) so if water was still in his mouth it could easily trickle out his nose. I would not be too concerned unless this becomes a regular occurance.

I mention the eye too because when we would flush our chameleon's eye or give eye meds the saline flush would sometimes come out his nose. He would also start opening and closing his mouth like he was licking his lips so I know the meds were going from his eye to his nose and a little into his mouth.

Sounds like he did not swallow the water, perhaps something startled him?!

Yes, the plumbing is all connected, mouth, nose and eyes.

Has anyone ever made you laugh just when you are taking a sip of something?

Then you know what happens ;)

Does he eat and swallow his food normally?
