Hey Dustin, it's Zac. So glad to see that you are taking the right step in Chameleon Keeping, you will learn so many new things within this hobby and how to correctly house a Chameleon. Not to mention finally a second person in the area that I know of interested in them. :p

Before i get one i want to know everything i need to know about them and have everything to keep them well and taken care of

READ A L O T! Browse around on here A LOT! Chameleons are not starter reptiles, they require specific things to keep them happy and healthy so please do your research. This site should be in your favorites bar and you have found the best help site out there for Chams :) Welcome to your new addiction :D

jannb has a blog for new cham owners...it pretty much tells you everything you need to know, you can search her user name but im sure she will chime in with a link...also, use the search feature, there is a wealth of knowledge here on the forums and pretty much everything is just a search away...welcome to the forums man

Thank You CBpanther its already save and i have to thank ChameleonRave for giving me the site and i have 5 months ahead of me before i get a Chameleon so i have some time to learn about them and with all your help i will learn alot

Yep, 5months is a good amount to reading to do. Good research time. I would also suggest start picking things up (Cage-wise) before the 5month period is up. The chameleon (If panther) is expensive, BUT the cage is even more. Anything else man let us know

It's a veiled that he will be getting. It will be from my clutch, good thing he is local! :3 And I've known him for a long time! LOL He's going to do great and willing to learn! He is in the right direction! Dustin, just go ahead and ask any questions you need we are all here to help! And if you want to stop over to my house to check out what the setups will be looking like and the parents of the babies just message me.

impo you just gotta have the set up right and chamrave can tell you the details , since you do know him

since its a veiled its not that hard, just be consistent in care

goodluck and do a good amount oof rresearch

and WELCOME TO THE FORUMS:)

Exactly what Ace said! :3. Veiled's aren't the hardest species, IMO I think they are the beginner Chameleon. It's just up to you if you can get the correct setup and if you want a male or female. c;

first off welcome to the forums.

second what kind of cham are you wanting to get???

3 off first things first health wise start calling around your local vets and vet hospitals and find out also go to your local reptile store with good credability and find out who they recommend for a vet for future mishaps that may happen.

4th 5 months is perfect to getting everything together and doing the research for the perfect cham for you. i.e. size of cage you have room for and all that jazz. let us know what your looking into.

Welcome, I am also fairly new at this (6 weeks into ownership), and I am so pleased to see how many new owners and future owners are taking the time to do their homework. Good for you, and you and your Cham will do much better because of your researching in advance.
