Wallpaper or waterproof odorless paint?

Would wallpaper, the type you put into fish tanks for backing be suitable for chameleon cage backing? does it save me painting my cage with waterproof paint?

Hey I would use a waterproof substance. The reason behind that is water can still get into little cracks and mold. I do not think you want to have a possible health problem with a expensive animal. I would say is it better to be safe then sorry on this one.

ok then ile go for the paint, but ive looked everywhere for it...B&Q pet shops...etc i cant find it anywhere. ive looked on the web and found a company that sell waterproof odorless paint but that type only goes on to metals and you order it by the thousands of liters. Any companys to suggest?

Your reference to litres leads me to beleive your not in the US. Providing your location will allow members better help you. And for the record... Shipping chemicals such as paints,thinners,aerosols..etc, can be a real headache. I know this because I own a furniture store and have a full service repair dept. You would more then likely be better off buying locally, rather then having goods shipped in. Which is where your location will be a big help. Using a water seal would be ideal, along with using treated lumber would be even better. Good luck!

i might go for the water seal, i gather that it is just like a paint that is suitable for a chameleon cage. I dont think the lumber wood would be very good because i have already bought the cage, the cage is just wood back sides and bottom, the top is mesh for ventilation. I have also posted some pics of the cage on one of my other forms. (Also i live in the north-east of england), would they sell the water seal locally to me??

i can not find the paint anywhere... i have decided to get backing paper but fill in every gap very well, so there is no holes. I also have a bit of an awkward humidifier, it only does it job if it is submerged in 5cm of water... Im geting a big water dripper to hang over the top of the cage and....drip but i dont no where to put the humidifier??? should i just put a little bowl in the corner and let it do its thing there? or should i put it in the dripper hanging above the cage?
