Walking Sticks - Food?

Hi everyone!

I'm just checking if anyone has ever fed their veilds / panthers capture bred walking sticks?? I've got a few babies and was wondering if they're okay to feed to my Chams....

you mean captive bred? so you have raised them and you did not find/capture them???? Jann B has a thread going right now about walking sticks and are they safe to feed. Some are and some aren't I guess!

I bought them at the local pet store - which was their class project of captive bred..... hmm... I'll try and find that post. Thanks!

ok, you said capture bred! Anyways, I know of people on here who feed regular walking sticks. The one Jann found is striped and called a Phasmid which is not ok from what I just read.

I use indian walking sticks as part of the diet for my panthers chameleons
they are easily gutloaded and very much enjoyed by chameleons
they are NOT LEGAL to own in the USA and you're supposed to have a permit for them in Canada

Yep, I'm in Oregon and they're sold in pet stores all over the state... I just really wanted to make sure I'm not feeding them something that would harm them.... I need to get a variety in their diet - I think they're getting tired of the same ole same ole....
