Walked in on my cham .. wooops

So this morning I went to mist my cham and I walked in on her pooping. I found it amusing that they lift one leg up hahahah .. this is my first chameleon so everything is new to me but I thought it was so cute. I gave her privacy and then cleaned up and gave her morning mist. I'm glad to say that her urate is white so I must be doing well with hydrating her. Thanks to everyones suggestions!! You guys are a big help!

lol My big guy Henry is shy... and when you catch him in the act he looks at ya like 'YES?!?!??!" LOL I have only caught him a few times and he is in the bedroom... so he likes to save it for when he is alone and thinks hes the only one home.

Totally understandable. Just like we like our privacy too! You should give him a magazine to read lmao .... jksjks

They have quite the personalities! I work in a reptile store (Tails and Scales in Toronto) and we have baby, juvi and adult veileds, a few ambilobes and an adult nosey be right now .. I noticed the males are more friendly and show their colour well whereas the females seem timid/shy. My girl was the only one who was bright green and loved coming out all the time. But from what you say, your guy is a bit shy .. and my girl is more sociable than usual, so I guess it depends on the cham. She hates when I mist though .. is it just me or do they make a hissing kinda sound? I think I heard her today ...

He loooooooves to take showers with me. I have tons of bars and stuff he can climb on while he's in there with me and he loves to climb right up to the shower head and drink or just get wet. He's so sunny. But his favorite trick of Bull crap that he likes to pull is waiting until I am in full hair wash mode, and have both hands lathering my hair. That's when he likes to walk over, stand right above me, and drop what appears to be 80 yrs worth of poop right into my hair. He does it on purpose... I know it. Still, I love him... little punk ass

Now THAT is hilarious!!! How did you realize he was pooping on your head? Did you feel the bomb drop? lol So you can let them shower with you eh? That's pretty cool! I didn't know that. What do you have in there for your cham to walk on? I wanna try this See if she likes it ..

That is pretty freakin funny!

But on a more serious note... taking a shower with your cham might not be a good idea... the steam can carry vapors from the soap and irritate his eyes and respiratory system... Plus the fact that soap suds is all over and that would be really bad for him if he ate it or got it in his eyes.....

Not scolding you... just letting you know. I wouldn't want something bad to happen to him. When most people shower their chams they make sure there is no soap residue that can splash on the cham.... lol so soap all over the place while showering isn't really ideal conditions for a cham in the shower. (I understand he is prolly up high and away.. but just food for thought)

It's so cute how they lift one leg, but did you see him after he was done? They wipe their vents on the branch after! Lol!

I certainly wouldn't want Tommy in the shower with me! His grip is so strong and his nails so sharp - I really don't need that pincer grip on certain parts of my naked body! Just imagining the pain makes my eyes water, lol!

LMSAAO! Is that a guy thing -- lifting leg? Chi-Chi either leans her hiney over the edge of a branch or juxtapositions between one. She does however makes sure to wipe clean.
