Video Editing Question...

I am uploading vids from my little Kodak Easyshare camera and it automatically saves the video in QuickTime format. I can upload these vids to YouTube, but I want to be able to edit the videos in the simple way of cutting chunks of footage out, off the end or beginning, and I can't figure out how to do it for the life of me. I have Windows Movie Maker that looks like it would do it for me...But it won't let me import QuickTime format video. There has to be an easy...Free way to do this? Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Joe

Maybe you can use a program like WinAVI to convert the quicktime file to AVI or mpg. Not sure it will work but thats what I would try.

Thanks Guys... I tired that WinAVI to see if I could convert the files... It looked like it was going to work and then when converting it popped up with an error saying that there was something wrong with the QuickTime file and it could not convert.

I can't really use the movie maker until I find a way to convert QuickTime format videos into windows media format.

BUT!!! I did find a solution... I uploaded a video to photobucket and Voila!!! They have an Editing feature that allows you to do just what I needed to ... along with a lot of other cool stuff. Only down side being that you cannot embed Photobucket videos into a post as you can YouTube videos, but that is not a big deal, people can just click the link... Unless someone knows a trick for this?
