Vet visit

Hello,

My veiled has URI I think,so I'd like to take her to a vet. But how should I arrange it? I mean to keep her warm. Any ideas?

I use a small styrofoam 6 pack cooler. I poked holes in the sides for air, use a hand warmer packet for heat, wrapped inside a microfiber towel. I then bend up a flexible vine to fit securely inside. Works great, and the cooler was only $1.

Where did you get the styrofoam cooler from?

You're welcome. They had them at our local food store, Jewel. You could probably find them near the liquor department, too. I like that it's insulated, and keeps the heat in.

I would do the same thing except no holes or vines. The holes can allow the heat to escape and there is plenty of air inside the cooler for at least several hours (and likely even more.) Vines can actually end up hurting the animal if it gets bumped just the right way. I use a small bit of cloth or towel in the bottom.
