After calling 7 veterinary hospitals, and being told no they dont have a herp vet, or yes we do, an exam is 125.00 bucks!:eek::eek:

I finally found a vet!

wahoo!
exam is 70 bucks each!

BUT, I can bring poo in for a fecal WITHOUT bringing them in to be seen first!

So, as long as no one has parasites, I dont have to spend 70 bucks x 3 lizards!

YES!
So, guess what Ill be spending my weekend doing?!?!

120 bucks for 3 fecals.. not bad.

Good to hear! I was actually lucky enough to find a vet who does home visits. cheap too. like 45$ for the visit. I will let you know how good with lizards he is after today. i hope he is knowledgable because you cant beat a at home vet.

I owuld love an at home vet. And I still hate the price of the exam... but since I dont have to bring them in to be seen first its ok.

what vet is it? the only place around here that treats exotics is the blair animal hospital and they milk every penny -.-

grr...why do vets have to be so complicated? ive called the 3 closest vets, the two local ones dont do herps, the hospital does, but will charge at least $150 for a visit of any sort..and all the other vets are getting close to johnstown which is a 45 minute drive :/

did you ask if they have to see the cham first?
cuz this one doesnt. i can just bring in poo and then if they have worms, then i have to bring them in for an exam.

I dont see why you couldnt really. It might not be the most accurate since it would be dry. I cant see someone refusing money to try it though.

I wonder if there are mail restrictions on that..

maybe send it in a baggie with a moist paper towel :p haha..would make fecals alot easier on us who do not have vets that do them for a reasonable price..i would do my own, but dont have the money for a microscope at the moment :/ and i graduate this year, so cant use the schools :(

Ill ask my vt when i go this weekend.. see if that would work. if you can mail it, then you can mail in the fecal and a check for the amount. and i can get your records and stuff for you. and send them back to you
