Vet Appointment for Sept. 15th, 2011.

Hope everything goes well for you and your pet. I'm currently experiencing something similar.

Yesterday I noticed a crusty yellowish substance plugging my male veiled's left nostril. Doesn't look like an abscess/growth but I'm not sure. Calling the vet's office tomorrow to schedule an appointment.

Just read the last couple of posts on this thread now. Don't know how I missed it on the 15th. Sorry. :(

How did it all go?

It was fairly nice, but she wasn't too knowledgeable on the care and husbandry of Chameleons. She thought she was skinny, because she could feel her ribs and she seen them when she puffed up.

Zac, I ask my vet about this and he said most things looked in order. He did question the anesthesia and wondered if that meant 30 minutes in the chamber? He also said he would not recommend the Gentamicin that it could be very hard on the kidneys.

Thanks so much Jann.

How did the surgery go?
Did they find anything out from the cultures?
What antibiotic did they end up using?
How's she doing?

Okay, so it's time for an update. Surgery had to be pushed back a few weeks, because the vet went out of town..

She goes in tomorrow in the morning and I will be getting updates through out the day. Wish my big girl the best of luck. I'm hoping all goes well, I know that Dr. Alfonso has helped her with some information on Chameleons, thanks to Jann.

I will update as I am updated on her.

Thanks, Jann. She should be in surgery by now. I am a nervous wreck at the moment. I got those scared butterflies, if that makes sense like the kind you get when you go to the doctors.. But I don't know why. I just hope my sweet girl is going to be okay. They where very nice and I just brought her whole setup to the office. I will update as soon as possible.

Update:

Okay, so I called the vet and she is done with surgery. She had a growth that spread by her eye. It was all connected, but she is back to her self already. I will be picking her up today at 3:00 pm. I will take some pictures for everyone to see. If she allows me. I"m sure that it was a stressful day for her.
