Very scary and eventful weekend !!

Sunday morning after I fed Milly, my children woke up. I looked at my son in horror. His face was covered in red bump bloches. I examined him from head to toe. I noticed he had spots on other parts of his body. I called my husband and told him when we pick him up from the airport we going bring our son to the doctor. I misted Milly after I got off the phone, then came to my room to check the forums. My daughter was with me in the room. I caught this pain in my left arm then it shot to my chest. I became weak, dizzy and it felt like my heart was struggling. I got up and braced myself by my dresser and bed. I told my daughter that something was not right and if I was to fall or pass out to press my emergency button on my phone that is on the lock screen. I went down like a sack of potatoes. Everything was flashing before my eyes. My mother had passed away from a massive heart attack at the age of 45. Also a lot of heart problems on both sides of my family. We live almost a hr away from the hospital. The emt told me I have two options. Ambulance or Airmed. I flew for the first time in my life. I was in so much pain. My parents took my children to a family members house. They met up with me in the emergency room. While all this is happening my husband has no idea what is going on. We couldn't get intouch with him. Tests after tests was taken. The doctors diagnosed me with Vasoconstriction. I have to stay away from cold exposure or my blood vessels will constrict, slow blood flow or even stop and severe muscle tightening I was worried about Milly because I tend to her and check her through out the day, everyday. My husband got the news and was picked up by his father. He made it to me right before I was discharged. I was so glad it was not worse than what it was. Very happy to see Milly going from vine to vine just relaxing. I gave her a good mist and a treat. The next morning my son was doubled in blotches, so we kept him home from school. Doctor said he has Fifths Disease. He is on 3 meds and will be back to normal in 5 to 10 days. Four of those days he cannot go to school and have little skin contact with other people. It has been a very stressful and scary weekend. So I have to try and stay warm or get a repeat, keep my son from others or repeat. Very eventful few days.

Sorry if I vented but everyone here is like a second family. I needed to let it out.

Good Lord Trisha, glad to hear you are doing better and that your son will be OK. I know I am a bit down the road, but if you need anything critter related, just let me know.

Omgsh. I'm so glad your OK!!! You didn't have a heart attack did you?! Or was it just the vasoconstriction?? I have no experience with that but from what we learned of it in school of sounds awful :(

I'm sorry about your son too! Very stressful weekend indeed!! Rest and get feeling better :)

Nope no heart attack, thank God. Vasoconstriction is what I was diagnosed with. It mimics heart attacks and strokes. Basicly my body is not adjusting to cold temps because of the defect in my heart. I have mitro vavle prolapse.MVP means the flap inside my heart that helps blood go to each chamber flips back and its not suppose to. My blood backflows into the previous chamber every other heart beat or sometimes more. That is why I am prone to blood clots and crappy circulation. So when the outside of my body gets to cold the Vasoconstriction kicks in and starts tightening my blood vessels. It also tightens the muscles in the area that is affected. I am still sore from when it happend Sunday. My doctor said it would take a few days for my body to recover with pain meds and rest. I have to avoid cold exposere as much as I can.

Stay warm, sorry to hear of the series of unfortunate events. Hope things get better!

Oh my goodness! I'm SO glad that both you and your son are okay. That sounds so scary! I'm also glad that Milly was unaffected. I worry, too, if something unexpected keeps me from misting or feeding Kush when I normally do. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you all. I am feeling better today. I am not up for going into town today. It is freezing. One of my sons medications had to be ordered. It will be ready for 10:30 this am. We went to 4 different pharmacys and they all didn't have that medication in stock. It's the one he needs to start getting rid of Fifths Disease. Ugh. This morning after I got my daughter on the bus, Xavier my son woke up. To my shock his body looks alot worse than when it first started. I was told it will get alot worse before it gets better. He is such a trooper. I went to tuck him in last night and give him my lovings. He said *WAIT mom you can't touch my skin. I don't want it to get on your pretty face !* Aww sha.

This is a link that explains what Fifth's Disease is.
