Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - male veiled about 5 months old. I have had him for about 3 months.
Handling - I never handle Donnie unless i have to clean his cage.
Feeding - He gets about 10 - 15 crix about twice a day and 4-7 superworms every other feeding. I gutload with fresh greens, and fruits, and veggies, and a frozen pellet of all the about.
Supplements - Repcal supplements. w/o D3 everyday, w/ D3 twice a month, and multivitamin twice a month.
Watering - I hand mist 3 times a day for about 2-3 minutes. And i put an ice cube or two on top when i leave for work. I see him drink fairly often.
Fecal Description - Solid brown poos and white urate. and recently his poos have started to smell something awful. I dont believe he has ever been tested.
History - I dont have much history on him, other then i bought him from Tiki Tiki Reptiles when he was 2.5-3 months old.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen cage 18x18x36
Lighting - Reptisun 5.0 18" and a 40w household bulb for basking. Lights are on a digital timer from approx 8-8
Temperature - Basking is about 82F and the bottom gets around 70F and gets a little lower then that at night. I have a digital thermometer to measure.
Humidity - Humidity stays fairly normal i dont really know as of now because my humidity gauge fell off and havent picked up a new one yet.
Plants - I have one pothos and will be getting another soon. I had a schefflera but it got root rot and died.
Placement - He is in the corner of the living room, not a high traffic area, just me and my gf most of the time. The fan is usually on in the room but its on low. Not near any vents. The top of the cage is at 6'.
Location - Dallas, Texas

Current Problem - What I am concerned about now is he climbs up the back of the cage and sit directly under the UVB bulb for hours, with his nose where the back on the cage and top meet. He head is a lot more gray then the rest of his body. Is he getting sun burned? He isn't peeling, he just finished a shed like normal.

ok.
two things.
one the poo smelling really bad, is a sign of parasites.
so, vet visit for a fecal please.
cham poo should smell relatively neutral, so when it does start to get stinky, its probably parasites or some sort of intenstinal bacteria growth (not good)

and second- how old is your uvb bulb?
you may want to raise is his baskiing temps a bit, 85 sounds good.
and his head turning grey is normal.
its just coloring.

as you can see in my thread here. My veiled Kink's head is grey too.

I got the bulb just days before I got him. So it is no more then 3 months old. And I will have him to the vet first thing Monday.
Thank you
