I bought a new veiled on Sunday. Its 10 days later and I don't see any poop around at all. Ambient temp is 76-80 24/7. He's around 5 months old and eats roughly 15-20 1/4" crickets everyday. I see him drink everyday and he gets 3-5 mistings daily. I just gave him a 20 min warm bath and nothing.
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE AND WHAT CAN I FEED THIS GUY TO MAKE HIM TAKE A SHIT!?!?!

might I add the crickets are gutloaded with flukers high calcium feed and those orange things flukers makes! He's acting totally normal other than the lack of not defacating.

Hi,
Are you sure there is no poop in his viv? Sometimes it's hard to find them. To help him defecate you can feed silkworms, get him outside for natural sunlight or make your temps a bit higher.

Do you have plants in there? You can often find a tiny poop stuck to leaves or in the plant pot. Do you have heating on all night to maintain ambient temps of 76-80? It would be better to allow temps to drop by at least 10 degrees overnight to allow the metabolism to slow down in order to sleep. They can take temps of low 50s.:)

Mine sometimes waits 2 weeks and then fires out a lumber jack log. Still good urate.

My vet recommended canned pumpkin (not seasoned) for those who are anal retentive.

warm shower, or as jan said, warm mistings. Mine can go for a good while without a poo. But you should check the leaves, cause it does get stuck to them

yeah I have an umbrella tree in there, i checked everywhere no poop to be found. i dont have access to hornworms at the moment and the warm shower didnt work so im thinkin about using an oral syringe to administer some olive oil. What so yall think about that?

The temp in my apartment is 80 during the day and 76-78 at night. My heater is broken, if I could I would have it drop to atleast 70 at night.

not sure if this would work, its just an off the wall idea (and please more experienced keepers, correct me if it would be bad for a cham) but maybe try feeding the cham some plum baby food, seeing as how it makes babies poop quite a lot, maybe it would help your cham poop too!

I would not syringe feed him any oils, especially if you are not aware of where their airways are in the mouth. That could turn very ugly very quickly!

I've always heard that something like grapes will lubricate the system, as it were. And since veileds will eat fruit and veggies it might turn into a tasty treat he can enjoy for ever.
