When do veiled chameleons usually start showing their colors?

it varies on cham to cham. Mine started showing them around 5 months, but there is another member on here with a 6 month who isnt showing nething but green.

I find that generally, males like to show off as they start to become teenagers about 5-6 months. Females stay green longer until they become receptive at about 8 months or so. The boys are fun to watch especially if they see another chameleon, either a male or a female. If they were pretty friendly, all of a sudden they can become very ornery and will gape and hiss at you whereas he used to love to come out of his cage, and color up. Of course he will run and hide when he does this. I usually don't let him get away with this and remove him anyway because once he is out he becomes his old friendly self.
