Isn’t she a little young to lay, being less than a year old?

Nope. Both of my girls laid their first clutches when somewhere around 6-8 months old.

In their natural habitat, wild veileds have very short life spans of usually a year or less due to the dry season. As a result, they grow super fast and are ready to reproduce at a younger age.

Veileds are famous for growing and reaching sexual maturity at absurd speeds if you see some 6 month old veileds you’d think they were over a year old it’s crazy never had one but I’ve seen enough posts on Facebook to learn
