Cage Info:
Cage Type - 5' H X 2' W X 2' L, Screen cage
Lighting - I don't know what the UVB bulb brand is and I have a RepiSun heating lamp. Lights on at about 5:30 AM and off at about 7:30 PM ( This is to ensure that my parents are able to feed/ water him before and after work.)
Temperature - Basking temp: ~80- 86 degrees Overall: 75-86 with varying levels of vegetation to allow him to move to a desired temp.
Humidity - ~30%
Plants - Fake vegetation until new cage is attained.
Location - Standing upright in my room- very, VERY low traffic..
Chameleon Info:
Type: Veiled
Sex: Male
Age: 1 year, 1 month, 1 week and a day
Time with owner: 1 year and three weeks
Handling - Once a month for cleaning of cage vegetation. He is very aggressive with hands in his cage.
Feeding - Crickets with an occasional treat of mealies. Fed 5- 10 in the morning and 5-10 at night
Supplements - Dusted every other day with Reptical Calcuim other minerals, calcium added in feeder water and food
Watering - Misting and hand watering. Misting is done 3 to 4 times a day for approx a minute.
Fecal Description - Sold black and white, a pale yellow was recently noted and the problem was quickly corrected with extra hand waterings and mistings.
Current Problem - Vis doesn't seem to be able to completely shed all of his skin, esp. on his casque. When he was younger the lack of shedding of his veil caused a slight de-formality- nothing serious, nothing that has continued to harm his quality of life. Is there anything I can do to ensure that he is able to completely shed? I've tried to gently rub off the remaining skin, at least three days after his full shed and the skin just doesn't want to come off. Should I be worried or am I being paranoid? I need to know in order to let my parents know (They're taking care of him, according to detailed and extensive instructions, while I am away at college.).
Thank you.
