Vanishing Cham

How likely is it that an 8 wk old veiled could climb down a 9" smooth sided pot & walk across the floor? Or climb a wall with nothing to grasp around? He happily perched @ the top of my potted tree for a week & then just disappeared within 1 hour :(if i were a baby cham where would i go?)

He could fall down the 9" pot if he couldn't reach the ground from the top of it... and they have no problems walking on the floor. Chams do climb downwards, I see my males occasionally on the floor of their enclosures looking around. They do always end up going up again, so I would assume your cham has found elsewhere to climb up - maybe a curtain?

Good luck finding your cham.

My Cham had vanished on me yesterday for awhile. I had him outside on his hibiscus plant on a table on my deck. Well I usually sit outside with him most of the time, but I was walking in and out of the house most of the time he was outside. Well I went back to check on him right before I brought him back in but he was gone. He managed to climb down the tree the down almost a ft pot. He then made his was down a smooth umbrella pole that come through the middle of my table. I found him sitting on a piece of metal that holds kthe umbrella upright through the table. He was the same color as the rod iron. It was so hard to see him because he was blended in so well. My mom and I search the deck for a long time until we realized whenever left the table just wanted to get out of the sun completely. So check the close area surrounding where the pot was. Most likely he didn't go far but they
Can do some crazy stuff some it is def possible be climb down.

He could even have jumped down if he wanted to escape. Are you sure the baby chameleon has vanished from the tree or may it be this tiny one just hides very well? If first case applies, close all windows or doors, shut out any other pets and search the whole room carefully. You can try to attrack him by a place with plants easy to climb, lights and feeders. But will be difficult to find such a little chameleon again. Might be somewhat easier to find him sleeping at night with flashlights. Good luck...!

I found him on the watercooler heater!

thanks you guys- you've given me a bit of hope! I was pretty convinced he'd been kidnapped by a coworker!
