How long are the reptisun 5.0 bulbs good for if they haven't been used.? I found some I had in the garage I bought a couple of years ago and never used Are they still good

it doesn't expire unless used. I'm not sure after a couple of years,but is should

The instructions say that they expire after 6 months of use. But that could be the manufacture's way of getting you to keep buying from them. The only sure way is to invest in a UV light meter. They're expensive, but will save you in the long run.

If your lamps have not been on, just sitting a box, they are fine. If you use them, a reptisun is good for about 8-9 months. ZooMed tells you to replace it at 6 months. This is prolly to civer their own butts and to keep you coming back for more. This 6 months of time is referring to use of the lamp for 12 hours each day.
