repti glo vs repti sun idk what the difference is but ik the repti glo is way cheaper

They are almost the same. German made 6-7 phospur with the same output. They like to market things differently, but each has a 5.0/6% and and a 10.0/12%. If is a T8 bulb, get the 10.0/12%.

T5HO 5.0/6% Is the current best for chameleons, repiglo, reptisun, and arcadia make them. They are about the same, but arcadia has been making them the longest.
Would this work

That one is great for 2-3ft tall cages. It only puts out usable UVB about 1 foot into the cage, so i dont recomend them for the 4ft tall cages. For 4 ft cages i recommend the 10.0 version of that one.

Could the compact uvb have been causing him to close his eyes during the day

That depends on how long he has been exposed to it. How long has it been? I do know that those bulbs can cause eye issue later on but I don't know if they can do anything too bad if it has been a short amount of time.

If you take the chameleon out of the compact light's range and it opens it's eyes, then chances are that the light was the problem.

He didn’t open his eyes idk what else it could be i just feel hopeless I’ve tried everything and he won’t keep his eyes open

So remove the cfl for a week. As long as you have a good d3 supplement, you will be fine with house bulbs for a month or more. Some breeders just use house bulbs and supplement 100% with just d3.

Well it doesnt has MBD, but it does look like it has some skin issues, and it is pretty skinny. The tub light is fine, regardless of type, it would not cause the eyes to shut.

He was eating good for 3 weeks and then when his shed came it got stuck in his eyes and I’ve only been able to get him to eat 2 hornworms in the past week and a half

Might want to give him a long mist (10min+) a few times a day till his eyes clear up.
