uvb bulb

I have a uvb bulb and basking bulb on his main tree, my question is, does he know enough not too sit too close to bulb?

Sometimes he sits right under the uvb instead of the basking, can he feel the difference and does he know enough to be where he is?

He has a good idea of the UVB he is getting. Heat, he will move to and from the basking as he feels he needs to warm up or cool down. Be sure he can't get too close to the heat lamp, sometimes they don't move soon enough and can get burns if the light is too warm.
