Uvb bulb placement

I have a very similar fixture. I use 1 reptisun 5.0 h.o lamp. I have no problems with my chams. I have 4 fairly identical setups.
I have had no issues with calcium uptake.
I did have an issue with vitamin A but its got nothing to do with lighting.
I have my reptisun 2nd bulb in from the outer edge. That way my cham can get away from the light if he feels the need.
My cages are 2x2x4

The one uvb bulb should be enough, especially since it is a high output T5. If you are concerned about enough uvb, then getting a solar meter will allow you to measure it.
Yes, there should be an area of the cage where the chameleon can go to avoid uvb. As far as making sure there is a place to get away from the uvb, This can be achieved best by making an area in the middle or lower third of the cage that has thick plant cover. This way the cham can hide among the leaves to get out of the uvb. Also, the farther away from the bulb, the less uvb, so make sure there are branches at every level so the cham can choose the amount they want.
