uv tube placement

hi have been thinking would it be ok to place the uv tube Vertical down the side of the viv that i have my chameleon in (would cover it in plastic wire mesh)
 
No, could be very stressful for the cham. Probly not good for it either. They absorb uv and heat from their back. Not there belly or side

its been said the heat and uvb light need to be as close as possible for best results because chams need to be warm to absorb the most uvb
 
Not recommended. They are built to have light come from above like the sun, rather than shining dead on into their eyes all the time. They also need to be able to get away from the UVB should they choose, which is harder if it runs down the side.
 
thats what i though also bc of pics i have seen on here with the light on the side...i think it was here i dunno any way i have seen it.
