Using ultrasonic mister at night

I'm wondering if anyone uses ultrasonic humidifiers during the night with their chams. Being in Canada, the heat is constantly on this time of year, and therefore, the air in the house is very dry. I have untrasonic humidifiers in my cham's enclosures set on timers during the day, but find the humidity also drops too low overnight. I was thinking of having the humidifiers come on at night too. Does anyone else do this and is there any reason why I shouldn't? Thanks!

I do this all the time. In the winter the air can get very dry around my area and I dont see any issues with using them. Just make sure they are cleaned frequently and the water is clean and there shouldnt be any problems.

OK. Thanks. My "logical" brain was saying "no problem" but my paranoid "chameleon Mom" brain was worried :D

Sometimes you have to do this, but if you are already controlling your humidifier with a multiple setting timer, be aware that it will take longer for the mist droplets to evaporate at night while the lights are off. You may not need as long or as frequent fogging cycles at night. Don't want the cham to sit soaking wet while it's metabolism is low. You don't want CONSTANT high humidity, just cycles of higher and lower during a 24 hour period.

Yeah, thanks. I did set the timer to do shorter and less frequent mistings at night. Highest it got was on the one right before lights on that I had set to go longer than the other night time sessions. That one got the humidity up to 65%. I saw it drop to 45% before I went to bed, so I think I'm OK. Good point though - thanks!
