Using Habistat dimmer in the US

Is anyone using the UK Habistat dimmer in the US? I have it for temp control. I purchased a transformer which ups my current from 120v to 240v into the Habistat. The sensor is on the basking branch. I need to know what light fixture would be best as I need a dome running 240v. Any advice appreciated. I am doing this as trying to regulate clutches with food and temp in low 80s. Thx

You can use any fixture you want. You will be limited to incandescent house spot bulbs. You can not use halogens. So just grab any wide flood that is around 150 watts.

However... It appears they are made out of unobtanium. I do not believe they are allowed to be sold in the UK, and its almost the same in the usa. You might be stuck with multiple 35-50 watt bulbs due to regulation. Just about everything is led now.

Im not going to tell you how to live your life, but you could get 2 120v standard domes, and run them in series using 35-75 watt flood lights.

As a foot note, in VERY rare cases, one bulb will warmup faster than the other, in which case bulb life will be reduced, or the bulb will die. I dont want to get too technical, but a cold bulb is almost a short, so they are racing each other to heat up, and if one wins the race too soon, it will see more than 120v across the filament till the other finishes the race.
