before, evenwhen i got it, i suspected something maybe wrong with my veiled chameleon, only 5-6 months old, and now im starting to hear this sound like when your spraying water, come out of her when i pick her up . Its like this one big huff!. then it starts to shorten. shes not hissing at me or any of that. and when i put her back in her cage she does the same thing . only for a few seconds though.

i tried to get to a vet but found out ,
There is none here that does reptiles!!!
i know, and the closest one is 5 hours away.

can i have an opinion on this problem please?
i really dont want her to die.
from something i can fix

my Male veiled cham does thet to just when hes scard. If he sees my other lizard he'll do tht.Go squirt his cage right now and wht does he do?

Ithink she might get better when she gets bigger. How big is she? My male is 18 inches long and he was kinda scard like tht when he was a baby

If it is a URI somehow your gonna need to get your hands on baytril or some other type of antibiotic.

Keeping the air a bit dryer and warm will help ease a URI but it would be up to your pet to try and fight it off without medication which would be really risky.

If you just got your cham you might want to go back to the pet store and see if they could do anything for you.

best of luck with your cham.

I dont know exactly how long she is ... shes only 5-6 months though. she fits on my index finger from head to poop shootLol/ then her tail is longer clearly

if you hear it when you're away from the cage
and you see a thick mucus or hear bubbling
you had better get started using antibiotics for a respiratory infection.

i cant hear bubbling, and ever since is witched from the glass terrarium to the mesh one it seems to be getting better and thats aweek now.

shes finishing her shedding , so i cant see any mucas..

thats sounding better :) , and yes the screen cage is a definitely an added bonus for ventilation.

If you can, try to open her mouth to check for any mucus inside, you can pull down gently on the gullet close to the tip of her bottom lip or wedge in a small rubber spatula to get a closer look.

i looked and it doesnt seem like she has any build up of mucus

thats good to know! :)

just keep her well ventilated, hopefully she will pull through without having to take a road trip. ;)
