Updates to the Cage

Recently I have been doing a lot of searching through posts and internet research because my Panther Chameleon has been very lethargic and not eating. He is 5 months old so after a few days I took him to the vet and he checked out fine but they recommended getting his temp up a little.

The point to the story is that I decided to bite the bullet and jump into the deep end with a mercury vapor bulb. The light that was getting trough the screen was very dark and did not register on my UV meter. The one I have is very cheap and used for measuring personal exposure so not accurate or detailed by any means but if I hold it up close to the screen I do get a reading.

Two days after installing the MVB things have greatly improved for Gizmo. He is much more active, drinks more often, and is actively hunting all the time. I raised the temps to about 87-88 for basking and the ambient to 78-80. I will continue to watch to make he is not getting too much exposure, but he seems to love it and fully explores the cage as opposed to before where he would just sit up at the very top or near the bottom and not move.

I am attaching some pictures so y'all can see how I have it setup but so far it is going much better than I expected.
