Type of soil needed !!!

my veiled chameleon is gravid not all the way though. I found the super soil but it contains white granules, i have caught her eating them. So, i was wondering where or what kind of soil can i get without the white granules?

I use the dirt out of my back yard.
In a pinch, that will do for nesting for sure- I actually prefer to use it because I feel it has a smell that is natural for them and my dirt is always the correct moisture content, unless it has just immediately rained.
If you want to buy dirt- In my chameleons' plants pots I get my dirt from lowes. You can look at various brands of organic potting soil or top soil. you might want to cheat and tear open the bag a little to see what is inside and make sure there is no perlite (the little white balls) and that the soil will not stain your fingers black. Some of it that I've gotten in years past stained everything black- must have had ash or charcoal or something in there.

Play sand like you would out in a child's sand box is also good to use. When we were in Madagascar the females laid by the ocean dunes in the sand. I'm attaching a few blogs for you that you might find useful.

Oh yeah- I totally forgot about sand- that is also a good option. When I used sand in the past, I liked to add a bit of peat moss to it (maybe half peat half sand by volume, or even less peat). It helps to keep the moisture content consistent and helps keep tunnel structure too. You know you have things right if the mix is slightly damp but not soggy, yet if you tunnel into it with your hand the tunnel does not collapse.
