Two thumbs up - custom lighting

So, I recently had Todd Goode of lightyourreptiles.com put together a lighting system for me. I gave him the specs of the area for which I was looking for lighting, and he set me up with an ideal set-up.

It's a 48" T5HO, with one 12% UVB bulb and one 6% UVB bulb, plus LED moonlights. He included two different types of hardware to mount this to my ceiling, because I was concerned that my drywall ceiling wouldn't safely hold up the weight of a fixture.

The pictures show just the lighting system, before I put back the MistKing or heat lamps back up, for the sake of clearly displaying the lighting system from Todd.

The light is so bright that even though the room is on the second floor, the light that leaks out of the window illuminates the yard!

I might still play around with the distance by hanging it slightly lower, but so far, it's working out very well, and looks neat, clean, and uncluttered.

Great lights, I use them myself!! But you need to ditch the moonlights, or at least not turn them on. The Chams will need pretty much complete darkness to sleep peacefully at night and those LED's are bright!!!

You will love the Arcadias, but again, no night lights.

I don't use the night lights, and never did when I had a reef tank, either. I personally think they're useless. I never understood the purpose of them, but I know some people get really excited about them. I know that corals and most invertebrates aren't able to sense these as light, and it's essentially completely dark for them. I think it's supposed to sort of let you view critters that come out at night, but very vaguely, more as just shadows. If anybody here is an aquarium-keeper that knows what these LED moonlights are supposed to do for your tank, let me know.
