Trying to compile a list of links and answers..

Syn,

What about supplements?

Which supplements should I buy? (Im on my phone so I can't post a link)

Noticed this is a pretty frequently asked question ;)

Where can i find an exotic pet vet in my area?

http://www.herpvetconnection.com/ or Brad has a sticky on this in Health section
Thank you! I have added this to the list - I can't believe I forgot that.
Speaking of vets, what if members had a place to post their vet info and rate their experience. This way, other members in that area could refer to it. I've seen many post about 'bad' vet experiences and hardly any good ones.
Are you speaking of the herpvetconnection link or something else?

It's so hard to choose links from Sandra's post..

I am not sure what 2-4 links I would choose..

D'oh they all have great information. I think that is a subject that will require a lot of reading..

feed me

Hey Syn-- How about "how to breed ____ " fill in the blank with the feeders... dubia, sikies, supers, crix, mantis, flys.. so on and so forth.

Here's a link for superworms: https://www.chameleonforums.com/breeding-superworms-31149/

and dubies: https://www.chameleonforums.com/breeding-dubia-roaches-8054/

Silkies....sheeeesh too hard for me.... but here's a link: https://www.chameleonforums.com/silkworms-101-a-7906/

I'll try to look up threads on the rest later...

I was just searching for a how to on supers on the site and it took some digging around. Compiling this list will save us cyber kids valuable nanoseconds : ) Thanks Syn!

Thank you ChamOh and Sandra!~ I have updated the file I have. :)

Of course I will link to your blog, Sandra. You have put enough work into that it should be everywhere! Oh, and RaisingKitty. :p

Lighting/Humidity

I think another good subject to add would be about the questions involving lighting. The importance of having the correct bulbs.
Also, links about how to keep up humidity levels. I have seen several posts in the last few days about this issue.

This is my favorite article on some really good ideas for utilizing humidifiers.

I believe the UVguide covers lighting quite well so long as people take the time to read it. If you have any links to suggest for lighting please let me know.

Thanks for the link on humidifiers! I will add that. :)

Glad this is helpful!

If anyone else has anything to add, even if they think it is not very useful, please post it! You never know who could use your information. :)

Seems like a GREAT idea!

I hope I didn't miss these, if not they are BIGGIES:

What kind of substrate should I keep in the bottom of my cage?

So how about that waterfall?

LOL! I knew I was forgetting things. Well I will certainly need to find a good website about those topics... or perhaps a thread or two. It doesn't seem like there is a specific thread based on the information and not just a bunch of question and answer type threads.

If I had more time I would be interested in writing up some articles that could be much used pertaining to these topics.....in the mean time grad school awaits ;)

I agree the UV Guide link you've got is excellent.
But if you do want another to go along with it, here are a couple others you might consider:

Update, what I have so far, still tweaking the "answers" here and there. The questions with links only I am still gathering correct answers for.. so.. I have a ways to go. Here's the updated portion:

If your post isn't on here please let me know. I had a minor computer crash and your link may have gotten deleted -- sorry!

Welcome to the forums and congratulations! Hopefully you’ve gotten everything you need. My suggestion to you is to read this wonderful little blog by Ryan Jarosek from the forums.

Why is my chameleon buzzing/humming/vibrating?
It's how they "communicate". (Please correct me on this if it isn't correct, I can't think of it off the top of my head)

Humidifiers? What’s that?
Many people who have trouble with humidity (live in a dry climate, etc.) use humidifiers to keep their chameleons happy and healthy. This is a great link to check out.

Is my female gravid/receptive? (C. calyptratus)
Compare her to pictures on this thread.

I have gnats! What should I do?
Use beneficial nematodes found here:
http://www.thebeneficialinsectco.com/beneficial-nematodes.htm
http://www.planetnatural.com/site/beneficial-nematodes.html
There are less expensive, more effective products for gnats such as Gnatrol.
Or you can set out soapy water, cider vinegar, let plants fully dry out, etc..
