Trying to build something for feeders

Okay my room get cold so my feeders die off easily which costs a lot of money, so I bought a heat pad and was going to put it in the container. Then an idea struck me what if I build a small cabinet to hold the feeders and the mist reservoir and have the heat pad in there along the back to keep both at a comfortable temperature. Before I begin this project I wanted to see if anyone thought this was something that shouldn't be done.

I have no knowledge of it but I know cricket for one thing need to be kept dark, provided with lot of hiding places. I don't know about temp and humidity but they hate still water from what I know.
