Since all of you chameleon keepers out there most likely have lots of experience with, well, chameleons...
Im having trust issues with my cham, it seems as if he hates me now or soemthing.
everytime i try to take him out, he hisses at me for trying to clean his cage.
its rather saddening.
Does anyone have a techniqe/and or tip that you use for your chams?

Sounds like a typical, territorial, aggressive Veiled to me! :) Try handfeeding him, and he will possibly associate you with food and as less of a threat.

Oh wait-do you have a Panther? I just re-read your name there-could be the same thing-territorial male. I have a Nosy that wants to kill me.

I have the same issue. I have a male veiled from 2 clutchs ago, 7 months old and the prettiest veiled I have ever produced, great gold colors. But I can't sell him to anyone as he is afraid of people. He runs when you open his door even if you are bringing food. I don't put him up for sale cause who would want him? I am no help at all.

When you reach in the cage, you're reaching into what he considers his space, and he gets upset. Some chams are unhappy when you reach for them, but calm down once they're out. Sometimes it can help to bribe them with food - open the cage, extend your arm in front of him, and hold a cup with a cricket or something else he wants to eat where he can see it but will have to climb on you to get at it; he might learn to associate you with treats.

When you do want him out of the cage for cleaning another trick that can work is by taking him out on a cleaned branch/stick. This is less of a threat than a hand or you in his territory and you can manouver it under him until he grabs onto it a lot more easily or just put it in front of him and let him walk onto it. When out of the cage also get him associated that its a great experience by letting him hang out in a fiscus or safe indoor plant with a few silk worms. :)

Sounds like my ankaramy. Today he was pertched near his worm cup, I go to put a large hornworm in and when pulling back my hand he must have thought I was going to grab him because he instantly puffed up and bit me. Little bastard!
