Trioceros laterispinis

Such an amazing species. So unique! If all goes as planned I may be bringing some of these little beauties over:) right Jurgen?;)

If these guys grow up normally that will be no problem;)
It will be just a very limidet number of animals,i have a very long waitinglist for these in EU also:rolleyes:
Are there any breeders of these in the US?
Outside my just one person in Germany breeds them...

I think Elisa who owns Chameo kept them for a while. Not sure if she still has any. They are like the other rare species that come in. Only a few specimen come in and very rarely. When they come in you get all males or females. It seems most of the time when females come in they are old and at the end of their life.

I think this is our biggest problem with the rarer species. Im not sure how many animals you guys get over there (tenuis, oxyrhina, etc) but I would guess more than what we get.

It seems like we would only get one or two pairs every year or few years of the really rare stuff. Definitely not enough to get a cb population going.
Elisa does not have any.

Here in EU a few reptilecompanies worked together with Joe in Tzn and get more or less a regular import(10 to 15 animals of each species tenue, laterispinis, oxyrhina)laterispinis where allways the rarest to come in i guess just 10 animals the last decade came in.
The bigguest problem whas smuggeling mostly bij chzeg companys who smuggeld a lot with pigmy shipments(i guess control there whas no prioroty...
I saw boxes full of tenue,spinusus,oxyrhina(100 to 150 animals could be more)offered by these guys in boxes under the table in Hamm...very sad situation they dont ask more than 50$ a piece.
With the Tzn ban these days are over lets hope it stays by the controled imports.

That is a sad situation. A few years back there were tenuis that came in with a shipment of pygmys. They were almost all emaciated and near death. I got two males to survive out of the 6 I had. I had 2 females that came from Joe B. I never could get them to breed. Im not sure if the males didnt recognize the females. I think the females were from a different locale. They had super blue noses and scales where all of the other female tenuis I have seen have green noses and scales.

Sounds like you guys have Joe sending most of the stuff over there!! Personally those species are too much for me especially since so little of them come in and its really hard to get true pairs. Ive gotten 2 male uthmoelleri (supposed to be a pair), 2 female Tr. goetzei nyikae (supposed to be a pair), 1 male xenorhina (supposed to have been more come in with females), 1 male oxyrhina (couldnt find any females), 1 male Tr. tempeli (no females) and couldnt get the tenuis to breed.

There is my luck:eek: I just want to start keeping K. tavetana if they ever come in again. They are cheap and really really cool chams plus I have had some success with them.

Love seeing all of your pics, BTW:)

And then that pair of tenuis went to me and I had them for over a year and they never bred. Found the female dead one day, and the male died of kidney failure.

And yes, she was very blue and beautiful.
