My Jackson chameleon, trident, who I purchased back in February has parasites. Hookworms and giardia.

The vet prescribed me some medicine for him and a information sheet. I will use bleach and clean his entire cage and buy him a new plant during the coarse of treatment. Does anyone have any recommendations for me to make sure he gets better?

Thank you

What medication did your vet prescribe?

I've been dealing with giardia and other nasties in two recently imported wild caughts. After completing the treatment, one still tested positive for giardia and round worms. Make sure you do a recheck--giardia is quite difficult to eliminate.

They didn't mention coccidia.

Metronidazole suspension
One today one in 10 days

Panchromatic suspension
Once a day for 5 days

Yes 5 days in a row. I will miss one day due to being out of town tomorrow but I will give him 5-6 days of medicine. Also cleaned his enclosure with bleach and got him a new plant last night

Are you giving more 5-days-in-a-row treatments for Panacur? I've been treating 3 to 5 days in a row three times per vet. Still had giardia, so am doing another 5 days in a row twice with 10 days between the end of one treatment session and the beginning of the second.
