Treating wood

Hey, I have a great piece of wood that I want to treat for my panther chams cage but its too big to go into the oven to bake it what should I do to sterilize it?

I wash away any visible dirt then spray with a 1:10 bleach/water solution. Let dry naturally, preferably in a sunny window or natural sunlight if warm enough. Once dry, use.

Totally agree it's not mandatory for many/most people. For those who live in areas with bugs affecting wood from local trees, it is advisible in many cases. I think we go overboard trying to make things sterile, when clean will do.

Hey just an update I went with the bleach+water because in Florida there's a bunch of bugs that could get in there. 2 years later and its still perfect thank you for the help!
