Tortoise finds his way home!

I had to share this with you guys. We have our 35 lb mascot tortoise, Torch, outside in his pen during these nice days. To get him there he takes a ride in my little red wagon, same way everyday. This afternoon i looked out the door and here he comes up the walkway, trucking away. It was sooo funny. You would have to see the maze he had to go through to come to the front door in order to admire his tenacity and desire to come inside. He could have gone in any direction but instead, came the exact same way that i take to get him in his enclosure. He dug done 3 feet to get out first!!! Who says reptiles aren't clever. I know this is suppose to be a chameleon forum but i had to tell you guys this.

They really are smart! My big female red-eared slider will crawl out of her pond and walk right up to my back door if I haven't fed her by 9:30 in the morning. Imagine my surprise the first time I was late and opened my door and their was my turtle just standing there staring at me. They always look a little pissed off:p

It's funny you mentioned that about your red earred slider doing that. I was telling my hubby about Torch coming home and he said "No, we were just lucky he came in that direction and didn't take off" and it is so not true. The path he took is just too complicated for it to be "luck". He knew what he was doing, i hadn't fed him yet that day either. I was late and he wasn't waiting. The first pic is Torch taking his buddy Zip for a walk all around the house. lol. The second is the wagon i use to transport the torts to their outside pens, but it is another sulkie, Tommy.
