Too much humidity?

On saturday i purchased a3 month old jackson's chameleon, and they like 70ish degree temp and 60-80 percent humidity. The cage is glass with a mesh top. There is pleanty of air flow. However the humidity can get up to ninety percent and above. Is this bad?

well it depends what are u using to monitor your humidity ? digital or analog?

I am using an analog thermometer and hydrometer. I also have 1 digital thermometer in a different spot in the tank

well the analog one are know to be tempermental i have one in my cage now due to my digital one breaking on me but it seems to read higher then it actually is which brand of analog hygro are u using?

Is the top the only part that is mesh? If so, it sounds like you might have him in an aquarium. That is not typically recommended.

Personally, I would be concerned about putting just about anything in a glass enclosure with that high of a humidity, unless you have active air circulation (like a fan). I have never had a Jackson's and am relatively new to chams in general but speaking from the perspective of someone who deals with a lot of bog and tropical plants- such enclosures breed fungus like crazy! At the very least, I would put a small fan in there to circulate some of the air out and some fresh air in. I would avoid relying on ventilation from the mesh screen as you will certainly have dead spots- airwise.

It is a 24 L by 24 W by 48 H
I have a small fan in each corner with sufficient airflow, and it is a zoomed analog

Those guages are not accurate or reliable, IMHO
Jacksons are okay with high humidity spikes - its not 90+% all the time, right? I guess until you get a better humidity guage you wont know for sure, but sounds like you've got good airflow with the fans

It isn't constantly in the 90's but it stays steady in the upper 70's-80's
