Too Much Heat? Or Not Enough?

I have been reading some threads and i read that the temp can cause a respiratory infection???? how so please let me know what would lead to that to much heat or not enough my cage sits at around 85 F. Please let me know how to prevent this

What species are you keeping?
What is the temperature range, from coolest spot near the bottom to the basking spot?
Are you providing any additional heat at night?

each genus has its own specific care requirements, so it would be hard to say without knowing what kind of cham we are talking about , but as a general rule, all chams need a varient in temps, humidity, and lighting, depending on the type of cham you are trying to keep. (ie. mono temp enviroments are not good) and you cant just guess, the only way to really know is by monitoring the various areas with a digital temp guage , the only way to learn what temps (and other conditions) are appropriate, is to learn all you can about the genus you are trying to keep. a good place to start is http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/

Well Another Question To Add to this one Yawing I see him do it like once every few weeks i read in the forum that this can cause stress?

I see mine do it to.....don't think it's a problem.

As for the heat......88 or 89 for basking and 78 or 79 middle of the cage temps and below 78 for bottom of the cage temp.

Respiratory infections are more likely caused by constant high humidity, poor air exchange, and a dirty cage that breeds a lot of bacteria. If the temp was really too low for the species it could cause one also, but more often it's related to humidity.
