Congrats! As said in an earlier reply, you can't put them back in the fridge - it kills them. I found that out the hard way! When I had loads last summer I advertised them on facebooke and sld quite a few! They seem to take ages to grow though, but I am going to keep the next lot a bit warmer and see if that helps!

ebay all the way! i was the same, never used it until last year.. now im ADDICTED! theres pretty much ALWAYS something you're looking for and you can pretty much ALWAYS find a buyer! with there being a shortage where you are.. you're sittin' on cash lol. on a side note, i know there are a lot of "gross" things in nature that we as humans consume or use.. but silk has always been up there for me in the "eeeew factor".. silk boxers ::shivers:: YUCK lol

Ha, yeah. But unfortunately you can't let moths hatch as they ruin the silk when they hatch. In order to use the silk you have to bake the cocoons to kill the moth. I can't imagine how many cocoons it takes to get enough silk to make anything. ;)

Poor little moth :( their kinda cute :D

Night is right hehe once the process has started there is no turning back. you can slow down their growth by feeding them every other day as well as keeping temps around 74 degrees fahrenheit. keeping them in bigger groups will also slow their growth due to less food to go around. If you still find yourself with too many to handle then you can always donate to your local pet stores. it will help build a good relationship with them and could even work out in your favor if you're in a bind and need a discount in the future, but more importantly, they aren't going to waste.
