Tongue questions

SKITTLES

I have a year and a half old nosy be male. Very active and strong. I feed him out of my hand and I have noticed that he does not shoot his tongue as far. Should I dust with more calcium or not worry?
Currently I am dusting 4 times a week with rep-cal no d3, 2 days no dust, and 1 day multi

What type and brand of UVB light do you use? Does your chameleon get any direct sunlight? (Neither source of UVB should pass through glass or plastic.)

What do you feed the insects?

Maybe with the handfeeding his tongue isn't getting enough exercise or it could be some nutritional issue. Has it always been like this?

I have been wondering for a while about what kinyonga said about hand/cup feeding possibly causing the tongue to not get enough exersize. I think it makes sense, with a combination of nutritional issues as well.

I use reptisun 5.0, gutload with with Fluker's cricket feed. I take him outside around 7 hours a week. I do not think he has always been like this, but I have been hand feeding him for atleast 8 months. Does anyone have any ideas about how to have him hunt again or is all hope lost?
