My porch over looks about 3-4 acres of wetland. I grabbed a cheap fish tank net and went for a walk.

I caught a bunch of frog tad poles and these salamander tad poles. I also cause a bunch of other cool looking bugs.

And Syn,. he was kidding..I think ;)

Isn't that illegal in your country to catch newt or salamander juvenils ?

Nope

"Legal Status
The Northern leopard frog and Oregon spotted frog are state endangered species (WAC 232-12-014) and cannot
be hunted or trapped. All other species of frogs and salamanders are unclassified and can be controlled without a permit.
The bullfrog is classified as a prohibited aquatic animal species (RCW 77.60). No license is required to hunt
bullfrogs, there are no bag limits, and the season is open year round.
It is unlawful to import into the state, hold, possess, offer for sale, sell, or release all frog and salamander species into the wild
without the proper license to do so (WAC 232-12-064). "

Are you really?! Aww. :(
Do you really want mosquitoes all the time?

Actually, 4 mosquito candles burning = no mosquitos :)

and as far as the tad poles. Im going to wait till they turn into frogs and salamanders then release them back into the pond i got them from.

Thanks for the informations. In my country it's even illegal to handle native reptiles and amphibians

Its illegal to do alot here in the States too, just depends on what the critter is. in TN we are not allowed to harm, move, or capture any wild snakes.. even if they are venomous and potentially going to kill us.. Its oh well. tell them to skeedaddle and hope they listen.. Doesnt mean people dont..heck, I would if it came at me!

In North Carolina, state residents could not move, capture or kill turtles..not even if they are in the middle of the road, but an out of stater can come and take up to 5 back to their home state as long as its not North carolina..

Seriously, you guys should google stupid laws.. there are some ridiculous things..like you are not allowed to keep a moose in the bathtub. LOL.. Makes for funny reading..

Are you letting them change to better their odds of survival or just to watch them develop?? Are their fish in the pond? Our creek is dry most of the time although I havent been down there lately since the poison ivy sprouted up everywhere! EEEEEEk

You really scared me for a second! I was going to ask you how they tasted afterwards LOL!

Just to watch them :)

So far i have not seen any fish. But soon im going to catch a bunch of blue gill and release them into the pond.

The pond was formed when these condos were built. Im catching a native fish and moving it to our pond. So no harm in that.

:)

Yes that's right, I've watched a tv show about the most ridicolous laws in the States. If I remember right every town or so could make some own laws
