Today I tried breading my panther chameleons. My male was ready to go but my female was not to impressed so we took her out of his tank and decided to call it a day. When we bought her they said she was 7-8 months old and i have had her for about 3 weeks. Is she still to young? Would it be better if i introduced him to her tank instead of the other way around? Is it just she was being a typical female and wasn't interested today? lol! I am going to try again in about a week and see how that goes.

im not positive.. but from the sounds of it, she sounds young still.. 7 to 8 months.. and shes not even a yr, shes not even big yet, i would definitley wait to be on the safe side, dont want her to die because she cant handle it

ahhh when i was researching it kept saying 8 months! Good thing she knows better! Even i was like "she is sooooooo tiny compared to him!"

It sounds like she just wasn't in the mood... give it another shot.

Yes, a "typical" female..:D

8 months is not too young as long as she has good body weight. How much does she weigh?
Also, was she showing receptive coloration?

Ok good I was scared that she was to young and I felt bad! I have no idea what she weighs but she is in really good shape. I'm going to try again in a couple of days :) Maybe she will be in the mood this time!

Hold her outside his cage...
Let her get a good look at him...
If she stays calm and pink as you move her closer, let her enter the cage...
If she turns dark, gapes and sways her body, Put her back in her cage, and wait... She will do the deed when she is ready.

It is recommended to make sure she is of at least a year old before you try this... Especially if you don't have a scale.
