Ummm yeah, that is a DOG who thinks HE is a mother cat :p that is Toby, one of our rescue dogs, who has become obsessed with our 3 week old foster kitten - when the kitten is out for free time, Toby will pick it up, and take it to his bed and hide it from the other dogs, if it is in its nest, and no one is watching , he will sneak it out of the nest, and hide it in his bed- I think he learned this by watching our Pommy do the same thing- she also has an identity issue and thinks she is also a mother cat :p they are fixed, so have no idea why they both act like "mothers"
he is very careful with it, but we do not let him alone with the kitten, and really, I try to catch him and get after him for doing this - I don't think he will hurt it on purpose, but I don't want to take any chances either, he is going to be a busy boy come spring, I have about 2:eek:/25 foster kittens every spring from our Humane Society I take care of -

tell me about it  the first time he did it I about had a heart attack because the kitten was in the room one min/ and then gone- and he hides it under his neck and acts like "what kitten?? I don't have a kitten" lol but on the same hand - what is wrong w/ this kitten- it tries to nurse , and just purrs away happy as can be  lol

OK OK, so since no one else has picked up on this YET. No wonder this poor dog thinks he is a female! YOU PAINT HIS TOE NAILS! LMAO

Pictures are too damn cute. That is one good dog right there.

That is seriously cute. When you get your foster kitties in the spring you'll have to have a video camera handy - or get a GoPro and mount it to Toby's head so we can watch his progression of transporting all of "his" kittens! :D

Such a sweet relationship! I bet he will miss that little kitty if you find a forever home for her.

That is so wonderful, that Toby would take the kitten and try to care for it. Might not be a bad thing sounds like it also gives the kitten a feeling of security. Can Toby learn to bottle feed the kitten? he would make a great Mom for it.

I had to go back and check the green nails! How in the world did you have time to paint his nails, why did you want to, but most of all, he let you do it??? My dogs would have had a holy fit, no way I could hold them down for that. They are a chore just to try to brush.

wellll, I think it is because I don't have a cham right now- and I neeeeed something with green on it :D ( and my husband was to hard to hold down to paint his nails :p)

Ahhhhhh- what a good idea - and after the way I told you I woke him up...(no- no dirty minds !! I pinched his arm like a cham pinches you when it walks on your arm -lol :p) he may just decide my cham withdraw is just so bad, and go get me ALL those chams we saw yesterday so I will stop pinching him :D

I wish I could , part of the deal w/ foster is they can not be kept - that is the deal w/ my husband, I can keep ONE, but then I can not foster anymore- it saves me from myself - LOL
