To much handling

Me and my lady handle our 5 month old Jackson more then he is in his cage. He loves to be handled. He will sleep all day with us. I think he doesn't like to be in his cage now. Does that sound right? And I think he likes being cooler then most chameleons

Chameleons dont sleep during the day. He's closeing his eyes due to stress.

umm so how does he get UVB? also im not sure if you are aware but its not healthy at all for your cham to sleep all day. Could you post some pics of your setup and the cham?

He could also be sick, which is why he's sleeping. Take him to the vet. :/

https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ As the others have stated, if your chameleon is sleeping during the day there is a problem either with your lights, temperatures set up in general..or there is another issue underlying causing your chameleon to be lethargic and sleep such as parastites, dehydration. Please post a pic of your set up and your chameleon. It would be nice to think he wants to spend the day with you, but if he is sleeping then he probably does not have the energy to be combative towards you as many healthy chameleons do.

He eats everyday he drinks everyday he poops normal but when my lady holds him and starts rubbing his neck he will just close his eyes and start to sleep. He is always light green unless he gets irritated

if you want us to try and diagnose the problem(if there is one) please fill out the form. They are not like puppies and they do not fall asleep while you are holding them unless there is something wrong.

They shut their eyes when they don't like what you are doing to them. My young male screws his eyes up if I get my face too close to him. I would think that touching the neck is quite a threatening thing for him, which is why he responds like he does. If, however, he is sleeping during the day in his viv, then he is probably sick.
