Hey guys...Its been awhile since Ive posted on this forums, but my male and female panther chams bred on the weeknd of September 10th!

My question is: When should I set up a laying been for my female? The expected date I have set is October 20th...does that sound right?

Welcome back, and congrats on the mating.

I would put a brand new 3 or 5 gallon paint bucket (bought at most hardware stores) filled 3/4 or about 12'' with new "washed play sand" (bagged sand for sandboxes). i would put a fine or walkway into the bin and shelter it with fake plants or coverage.

has she laid a clutch before? after the first clutch experience, gestation will take between 30-40 days (on average). this has been my experience with veileds, i'm certain there isnt really any difference in the process.

about a week before, your girl will start acting weird (decrease or loss of appetite, up at night, more active pacing around the cage, clawing at the cage walls/ground, or digging test holes in the laying bin. just let her be and give her all the privacy in the world when you start seeing these signs.

It normally takes around 30 days from breeding to lay the eggs. My female laid on the 27th day. I would set up the laying bin now.
